About Fred Newlin
Fred Newlin has lived in Lewiston for 28 years. His role as a community leader began in 1998, when he led the fight to make sure that a safe walkway for pedestrians and children was installed along River Road. He is known for his ability to work with people of all political stripes in a professional and good-humored manner. He and his wife Christyn enjoy hiking and kayaking, music, and working on their home together.
As Town Supervisor, his duties include:
- Chief Executive and Financial Officer for the Town - managing a $14 million dollar budget and 100 employees
- Police Commissioner
- Chairman, Town Emergency Preparedness Committee
- Administraor, Town Water District
- Chairman, Niagara County Host Communities Standing Committee - administering $3 million in funding annually
- Vice-chairman, Niagara County Supervisors' Association - 2006-present
- Commissioner, Niagara County Water & Sewer Districts
- Chief labor negotiator for the Town
- Niagara County Homeland Security Steering Committee - 2004-present
- Board member, Lewiston Jazz Festival, ArtPark Advisory Board, Niagara County Community Action Program
